30 minute Music Lesson
Sliding scale: $20 - $50+ Zelle preferred
Description
As a music teacher, i specialize in teaching singing lessons—i also teach piano, music theory, composition, & recording/production/mixing. Some students like to study multiple things at once, switching back and forth from singing to playing piano in different lessons. We can meet in person in Wheat Ridge, CO (address provided after scheduling) or online (i like Google Meet, but can use the video platform that works for you: Zoom, Discord, Face Time, & beyond). Tell me if you want an in-person or online lesson in the "Add Your Message" section of the scheduling form. I prefer payment via Zelle, Cash, or Check, because no other company takes a percentage out of your payment. I also accept Venmo & Paypal, if those are truly easier for you. Currently my website doesn't support a sliding scale payment system online, which is why you pay during your lesson rather than before (plus we get to interact with each other and build some trust before discussing money). Read on for a bit more information about what music lessons can be like. If you want even more info, check out the "About" drop down menu and click on "Teaching" or "Pricing." Some students need to talk about their week at the beginning of a lesson and blow off some steam to feel comfortable. Others want to get right to work, making the most of every minute of the lesson. Some students need exercises to increase the flexibility of their fingers or voice, but others just need to learn new music—learning new skills as they naturally arise in each song. Some students will want a blend of all these elements, and more. I’m all about flexibility—i want to adjust to your individual style. Everyone needs a combination of challenge and comfort in order to get better at a skill. I will help you balance and maintain your growth on the way to musical fluency. There’s a way for you to integrate music into your life so that you remember what you’ve learned and keep improving long after you stop taking music lessons. If you're nervous, i get it. I can help you set clear goals—why do you want to know more about music? Whether you want to impress someone cute with your musical skill, learn music history, sing sweet lullabies to your children, propose to your partner with an original song, or soothe your self with singing lessons—i can take you there.
Scheduling & Payment Policy
If you need to re-schedule, contact me or do it through my website 24 hours in advance. This helps me plan my work days. If you feel sick, it's ok to cancel with less than 24 hours notice—respiratory illnesses are particularly nasty for singers like me, so please keep those germs to yourself :) If you feel sick but OK, we can change your in-person session to online. If you forget to attend a session, consider paying for it anyways—this often helps us take the things we're paying for more seriously. That said, i'm pretty flexible, just try to give me as much notice as you can. At the end of your first session, we'll discuss the sliding scale and how much you'd like to pay. My favorite way to be paid is through Zelle, which connects to many banking apps on a smartphone. You can also pay with cash, check, venmo, or paypal. As sessions continue, you may pay at the end of each session, or pay for a batch of sessions at once. Many folks pay at the beginning of the month for all the sessions they'll have that month. You can take lessons or record in my studio at whatever frequency works for your schedule. If your own financial situation changes for the worse, and you can no longer afford to pay the same amount for sessions, please talk to me about it. That's the whole point of a sliding scale payment system, to be flexible.
